Change Color:

How to do eye makeup and smoky eyes makeup tips

Have you ever looked at celebrity women on the red carpet with the dramatic smoky eyes and wished you could have a makeup artist to make you look that fabulous?

Well, you may not be able to have a makeup artist but your makeup can look that great. Creating the smoky eye effect is easy to do at home.

How to do eye makeup and smoky eyes makeup tips 1

Pick a Dark Eye Pencil

Begin with a pencil. Black, tar or charcoal black are good choices.  Holding your eye in the corner, pull your upper lid tight, turning the upper lid upward slightly. Trace the line of the inner lid and fill in the gaps between your lashes. Then thicken the line.

Eye Pencil First

Hold your lower lid tight. Trace the inner lid.

Then Eye Shadow

Next chose a slightly lighter shade for eye shadow. Charcoal gray or dark green or blue-black are nice. Pick a color that will compliment your eye color. Gently brush the shadow into the creases of your upper eyelid.  Then apply up and outward to the entire lid.  Go up to the eyebrow, making it as thick as you are comfortable with. But you should see this color when your eyes are opened and closed.

Another Eye Shadow

Pick another shadow in a slightly lighter hue. Use it as an enhancer. It will play with your eye color and create depth.

Fixing the Eyebrows

Choose a shade of brown for a brow pencil. It does not have to match your hair color exactly. Softly brush the pencil over your brows. Fill in gaps but do not make it noticeable. A brush may help to lighten the look of the strokes.

Optional Highlights

It is optional to use a light colored eye pencil to trace a single line on the top inner corners of your eyes. The color should coordinate with the other highlighting shades and blend in. It is there to add contours to the colors.

Mascara – Last

Finally, use the darkest mascara you can find and apply thick, luscious strokes. The thicker, darker and more dramatic the lash, the better your eyes will look.

Keep It Simple

It is best to keep the rest of your makeup simple. The eyes usually say it all. Choose a shiny gloss that compliments your outfit and complexion. A shade of rose or lavender is usually nice. Now you are ready for a night on the town or the date that you have been anticipating.
